Honda questions and answers
Take a look at this great lense about Honda.
Q: How does the 06 Honda Accord V6 compare to the 2010 coupe?
I recently came into a decent sum of money, and I've been meaning to trade in my 06 Honda Accord V6 for the new 2010 V6 Honda Accord Coupe. I was wondering how the quality of the vehicle compares to my current ride. They always say "never assume the new model of the same car you're driving is as good as what you have." Thought I'd ask. Anyone know?
A: It's a Honda, there is no quality.
It would seem if you came in a decent sum of money you would buy a decent vehicle.
Q: how do i start a 91 honda accord without key?
Okay, I bought a wrecked 91 honda accord so I could get the motor out of it. It didn't have a key and the title is lost. I want to start the thing so I know everything works before I go through with the motor swap. I don't want to wait through the title application process. Can I just break the ignition switch and start it? And exactly how would I go about that?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
A: You would be shocked at the replacement cost of the entire ignition switch assembly - you don't want to break that. If you remove the lock cylinder from the passenger door a locksmith can use it to make a key - I almost had to do that a decade ago and the locksmith was asking $35 to make the key.
However, it sounds like you don't want to do more than start the engine. You can do that by removing the ignition switch from the cylinder. See the first source for a pictorial that should be close enough to what you have (it's a 1990 Accord). Once you get the switch loose you can operate it with a screwdriver to start the engine.
Q: Are some 5g honda preludes faster than others?
Ive been test driving honda preludes 99-01 and some of them feel faster than others and they are all stock. Like some hit vtec harder than others, what does that mean?
A: its all about care. oil is critical with these engines. Keep them clean over time and topped off. And the VTEC operates via oil pressure. Hell if the oil is low the VTEC won't even engage! And if the oil is overfull the car will feel sluggish.
Q: What engine comes stock in a 1993 honda Civic?
I'm putting a new engine in a friends car and he has a 1993 honda civic but doesn't know what type of engine is in it. I don't normally work with foreign cars so this isn't really my area of expertise but i can change a motor out.
A: depending on the country you are and what model(lx,ex,si). You can look at the side the block and it's stamped; most likely D15xx.

Q: How much would my monthly payment for a Honda accord coupe?
How much do you pay on a monthly basis for a Honda accord coupe?
A: You could check on Honda's site using the finance calculator:

Q: Where do I go to buy a modified honda for racing?
I want to buy a honda that has been modified to have a high horse power. Serious answers only. Thanks.
A: private sellers, no dealership will sell a ricer, it targets too small of a group of people. but i will recommend you get a manual transmission, because 15% of power is lost in an auto. But personally i get more satisfaction out of building it myself...trust me its 3/4 of the fun.
Q: How do you put subwoofers into a 1997 honda accord?
This is my first car, and I have no experience wiring, and don't know anything about what kind of subwoofers I should get. I'm driving a 1997 honda accord, but the stereo system is not stock.
A: I'd say your best bet is to head down to your local discount store, grab the best set of subs you see, oh and make sure to get a matching amp. Then grab some old cardboard and build a custom enclosure. Get some good string from your local dollar store, cuz you really don't need metal anyway... It's just heavy and boring. Don't forget to pick up about 20 rolls of duct tape from Home Depot, and throw it together in whatever way you see fit.
OR... You could just take your car to a reputable, yes reputable shop, and have them hook you up. I've known a lot of dealers/installers, and even though they make commission, most of them are good at setting you up with something in your price range with the performance you want. And did I mention that they're professionals?
Q: How many miles should I expect to get out of a Honda Elite 80 Scooter?
I recently purchased a 2007 Honda Elite 80 scooter new from the dealer. In the three months I've owned it I've already put 2800 miles on it. I put semi-synthetic oil in it (Honda brand HP4 w/o Moly) and I change it every 1000 miles.
A: The point at which you will need to change the "rubber band" will depend on usage and wear. If you rag it everywhere it will wear out quicker. Either way, I would expect that you would need to change it long before the 100000 mile mark previously quoted.
Like any vehicle, if it's properly maintained there is no reason why it shouldn't just run and run. Regular oil changes are good, as is sticking to the maintenance schedule.
Just don't bin it. ;o)
Q: What to look for when buying a used honda?
I'm going to look at a 1993 Honda prelude(5 speed manual with around 150k miles on it). This will be my first manual vehicle, what are somethings I should look out for? What should I look for? And what is vtec?
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.deep-ice.com
Q: How many miles will it take for a Honda trx250ex to break in?
Also where can I get a tow hitch for an 07 honda trx250ex?
A: 1 tank of gas and you'll be fine. Being an 07, i would figure it would be broken in already unless you found one new in the crate. Vary your speed and avoid hitting the rev limiteras for a tow hitch, check parts unlimited or your nearest dealer. They can at least lead you in a direction to look for one online. some vendors won't deal with the public, only dealers
Q: Why is Honda the only company in the US making NGVs?
With all the focus on alternative fuels, natural gas is a very good solution. Most of the natural gas in the US is domestically produced here, and can take a big bite out of our dependence on foriegn oil. I drive over 600 miles a week in my Honda GX (NGV), and I pay around 2$ a gallon for fuel.
A: Here's why:
1 - CNG (Compressed natural gas) cars have a very short range because, even highly compressed, gas is less dense than liquids, and they can't store enough in the car to make it go very far.
2 - LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) is VERY expensive to make
3 - There are limited fueling stations. I mean limited!
That's a good enough reason that they won't go on slae to the public for a while.
The Honda Civic GX has an optional fueling station that you put in your garage. It's called PHILL. And it "fills" the car with natural gas overnight.
Key points:
1 - Natural gas has 130 octane (vs. 87-93 for unleaded)
2 - Natural gas gets better MPDF (Miles per dollar of fuel)
3 - Natural gas burns cleaner than gasoline
Good luck with your research!
If you have a garage, and never have to drive more than 150 miles at a time, you might want to consider a Honda Civic GX!

Q: How much boost can i put on a honda civic?
I got a 1994 honda civic ex with a d16z6, I got like 3 piece design metal head gasket from Fel-Pro. That is the only thing i up graded on it, so how much boost do you thinks is safe to put on.
A: hey friend the first guy doesnt know what he's talking about. You CAN boost anything with stock interals as long as boost is kept at 7lbs or lower and you have it tuned properly. You can run cars like that well over 100xxx. Back to ur question the d16 isnt made for boost so 5lbs tops but if ur gonna boost it u'll wanna play with it. I will say the first time you exceed rec. boost levels u'll bend the hell out a valve. just think ur engine is 1600cc and ur trying to cram a ton more air in fuel in there and if ur parts arent able to handle it BANG....gameover. Good luck and happy tuning.
