A: You mean tailgate? If so, Probably around $50 in decent shape.

I have a Ford V8 351C small block engine, it's starting to reach 100,000 miles, and I am looking to rebuild the engine, what should I be paying to get this done?

A: A lot of answers and none too good. The cost will depend on what you have done and what parts you replace. If this engine is in a "classic" do NOT replace it with an engine from some parts store. It would not be a correct date code unit for your vehicle and would effect the value. You can spend a lot if you intend on doing performance upgrades or less if you want it stock. Check prices at a local machine shop and parts store to see what your specific build will run.
Q: I have a Ford Expedition with the tow package how can reprogram the engine for better gas mileage?
2005 Ford Expedition with tow package, not looking to tow anything. Need to save gas.
A: Often a tow package includes a different gear ratio at the axle and that may have a negative effect on gas mileage. The only way to fix this is to have the axle rebuilt or completely replaced. Sometimes programmers will have a mode for better mileage as well. Both of these options are rather expensive and might improve your mileage 2-3 mpg, it would be years before you would actually pay for this with the savings on gas. If you really want to save on gas you'd be better off driving almost anything other than an expedition.
Q: What is the clicking in my ford van steering column?
I have a 97 Ford E-250 cargo van with 100k miles on it. Since it's purchase the sterring upon turning has had a clicking or poping niose. It's more of a vibration than a noise and, it is not coming from the front end. I was thinking that perhaps a column bushing is progressively wearing out?
A: could be your rag joint just below where the steering rod comes through the fire wall, it wil be a round rubber piece that connects the two ends of your steering shaft. Good luck!!!
Q: What are the wires patterns for installing a cd player in a 92 ford escort?
I'm trying to install a cd player in my girlfriends car and i already accidentally cut off the clip part so all I have left is wires. Usually this would be no problem for me as I have installed a few cd players myself. On the Eclipse and Avenger the wires were the same colors as the wires connected to the cd player but the ones in the 92 Ford Escort hatchback are different. I don't think there is a red or yellow wire at all...so which is the power? I need help. Does anybody know which colored wires are for what in the Escort?

Q: What are the signs of a fuel pump going out in a 2003 Ford Expedition?
I have a 2003 Ford Expedition, and my truck takes a couple of turns of the ignition key before it starts. Also, it recently just started to turn off while driving. Are these the signs of our fuel pump going out or is it something else? Also, the relay switch board seems to get really hot. I am not to sure if that is natural, but its really hot to the touch. Thanks so much.
A: like he say not all give same system
some just die out Other only hot some when gas low like
hot relay may be bad or over working pump gas filter clog
corroded wire on pump sending unit pump relay
fuel filter get one worth the try
turn key 3 to 4 time on be fore u start it
if it start better then pressure problem
may have electrical problem
best thing try key on test above get you in direction of problem

Q: How important is the black rubber plug on the bell housing of a 2003 ford explorer?
I have a 2003 ford explorer and I recently had the transmission rebuilt. When I collected the truck I noticed a small amount of oil/transmission fluild around the black rubber plug on the bell housing on the transmission and upon closer examination I found that the rubber plug was damaged(it had a hole in it). Should I be concerned? Should I take the truck back for them to replace this plug?
A: The black plug covers inspection hole does prevent road debris and rocks from entering. the fluid could be from installation could be a concearn i would worry more about the fluid than the plug...

I have a 1962 Ford Thunderbird and its almost completely original, except for a few things in the engine to keep it working. It has 29000 miles on it and is in great condition. Black with red interior, original tires and spare tire, rides perfectly.
A: Well since its a Ford, and its junk, its probably worth its weight in scrap metal. I think scrap steel is going for 10 dollars per hundred-weight, so its probably worth around 300 bucks or something.
Q: Remedy for spark plugs blowing out of Ford Triton engines?
I have a 2000 ford F150 with the 5.4 Triton engine. It is approaching 100,000 miles and I am replacing the plugs and coils. Is there a solution or advice on how to prevent the spark plugs from blasting out at a later date? I have owned the truck 1 month and have recently read about this problem.
A: Well, I suppose anythings possible if someone screws up bad enough. I'd be interested in knowing where you read this, and whether or not they found the reason. My guess would be they weren't properly torqued because they're hard to get at. A wobble-drive extension or 2 helps a lot. I've heard some people say you have to take the fuel rail off to get at them. But they just don't know any better.

Q: My Ford Windstar accelerates fine but makes a humming sound when coasting. What is the cause?
It is a 2001 Ford Windstar and it sounds fine when accelerating or braking. It is only when coasting. Also, I also noticed the fan (heater) speed increases when this humming sound is made while coasting.
A: It may have to do with increased engine vaccuum when your coasting. That's when you take your foot off the accelerator pedal and the throttle plate goes fully closed causing maximum vaccuum to build up in the intake manifold. That vaccuum operates some fan blower control doors under your dash through rubber vaccuum hoses. If one of the hoses has a slight air leak, the leak will get worse with higher vaccuum and make the noise you here. There are also dozens of other reasons you could think up, but that's at least one! I'm not sure why you don't hear it though when your braking unless the power brake vaccuum flow changes the vaccuum conditions under the dash.

Q: How much does it cost to have a door hinge replaced on a 94 Ford Explorer?
How much can I expect to pay a body shop to replace my door hinge on a 94 Ford Explorer. The door is sagging and is now misaligned so much that it wont shut without lifting up the door. I was going to try and repair the door myself but it requires grinding off the old hinge bolt bushings and removing the door (which is heavy and not a one man job). Any advice would be most helpful and if I can get an idea of what this is going to run me. Thanks.
A: You can adjust the hinge on the body and the door by just
loosening the bolts and re-aligning the door. Are you sure
you need a new hinge?
Q: Can I trade in my leased ford truck at a different ford dealer than the one I leased at?
I was told I have to go back to the original ford dealer where I leased my truck to get another. They don't have anything I like!! They also told me that ford no longer leases and I have to "purchase" another vehicle now, which I don't mind, but not at this dealer.
